MEET THE THERAPIST: HYUN CHOI, LCSW, PPSC

Hello! I’m Hyun (aka Janice) Choi, a bilingual Korean Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #103478) and the founder of Embracing Journey, a child and family therapy practice located in Tustin, CA.

I’m also a Certified Play Therapist with advanced training in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT)—a respectful and empowering approach where children lead the way toward emotional healing through play. My work is rooted in the belief that life is an embracing journey—a path that honors every part of us, from our past experiences to who we are today.

I feel deeply called to walk alongside children as they learn to not only accept, but also embrace their unique feelings, strengths, and identities. In that safety, children begin to grow with confidence, insight, and joy.

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST:

As a bilingual child therapist in Tustin, I bring years of experience providing therapy for children in school settings, community nonprofits, and underserved families. These diverse experiences help me understand the emotional, social, and behavioral challenges children face at home and in school.

I also hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC), which allows me to work closely with teachers and school teams to support your child’s well-being. This means I’m trained to understand school systems and can help bridge communication between home, school, and therapy—so your child feels supported in every environment.

In addition to my clinical license, I’ve completed extensive training in play therapy and child development, dedicating hundreds of hours specifically to helping children feel safe, seen, and supported.

Whether your child is facing anxiety, behavioral challenges, defiance, difficulty with transitions, low self-esteem, or emotional outbursts, I create a warm and calming space where children can express themselves freely—and where parents feel supported, too.

At Embracing Journey, our mission is simple yet powerful:
To honor each child’s journey through empathy, play, and wholehearted support.
